For a little over a year I’ve found myself on this path of self-discovery and looking deep into myself and my interests. I’ve read many books, taken several classes and have finally decided that it’s time I start sharing some of what I learned.
My interests have led me down many paths that are all weaving together like a beautiful web, but it always comes back to something that I find extremely important and timely: the Universal Laws and Hermetic Principles.
I began a light study of them just over a year ago and have been moving forward at a steady pace. However, I think it’s time that I share some of what I’ve learned for two reasons. The first being that it’s extremely important information that needs to be accessible to people and second because it’s taking up massive space in my head and I think writing it all down will help me to understand it better and hopefully lead someone else down a rabbit hole so they can understand it too.
Meet the Universal Laws and Hermetic Principles!
First, you may be asking what exactly are the Universal Laws and the Hermetic Principles? A quick answer is that they are the Laws that the Universe follows, much like the Law of Gravity or the Law of Relativity, except they take place at a more individual and mental level.
I’m going to go into more depth about each one, but to begin with let me just tell you what they are.
There are seven Hermetic Principles, they are: The Principle of Mentalism, The Principle of Correspondence, The Principle of Vibration, The Principle of Rhythm, The Principle of Cause & Effect and The Principle of Gender.
There are many, many, many Universal Laws, but I’m going to dive into what many would consider the Big Twelve. The 12 Universal Laws are: The Law of Oneness, The Law of Vibration, The Law of Correspondence, The Law of Attraction, The Law of Action, The Law of Perpetual Transmutation, The Law of Cause & Effect, The Law of Compensation, The Law of Relativity, The Law of Polarity, The Law of Rhythm and The Law of Gender.
Now, I’m sure you’ve noticed that the Seven Hermetic Principles overlap with the 12 Universal Laws, which is quite handy for explanation purposes, but I personally think that it is a sign of maybe something bigger. If you take a look below you can see how I personally visualize how the Universal Laws/Hermetic Principles fall into place. I’m a very visual person, so having this little chart helps me when I need to do a personal check in. My goal is to climb up to the top of that pyramid and have control of my thoughts and emotions, not always easy but we all have to aspire to something!
Here’s what I plan to do over the next couple of months. I’m going to break down each Law/Principle and tell you what the meaning is from a couple of different sources, what my interpretation is and if possible, give you a couple of exercises or journal prompts to help you tune into that law/principle. These concepts will take a lifetime to master, but knowing about them and seeing how we interact with them is the initial step into getting into the natural flow of our life. Also, we as humans are about to embark on an exciting journey as more and more people learn about these Laws and start incorporating them into their lives. It’s an exciting time to be alive!
If you are already familiar with these laws and want to add anything, please shoot me an email at kristy@notwastingmytime.com, I would love to hear what your thoughts are on this. If this is the first time you are ever hearing about them, then please contact me with questions and I’ll do my best to answer them. Stay tuned and thank you for reading!
